Jessica Pegula Career
The Buffalo native was born in the winter of ’94. At the age of seven, she started serious tennis lessons. The athlete came to professional tennis back in 2009, but at the beginning of her career, she was not particularly successful.
Her first success came in 2018 when Pegula reached the finals of a tournament in Quebec but lost in the final to Pauline Parmentier in two sets. Successful performance in Quebec helped the athlete finish the year in the top 125 of the WTA rankings.
At the Washington Open in 2019, Jessica won her debut WTA title, defeating Camila Giorgi in the deciding match. After this victory, the American, for the first time in her career, finished the year in the top 100 of the WTA rankings.
The athlete started the year 2020 very successfully. Jessica Pegula reached the finals of the ASB Classic but lost to her compatriot Serena Williams. Then a pandemic broke out and Jessica did not show herself at all.
