Prize money per round
Stockholm Open prize money breakdown per round
In shortThe 2026 Stockholm Open offers €723,435 in prize money. The champion takes €110,055 and 250 ranking points; a first-round loser earns €7,755.
Stockholm Open prize money is paid in euros, per player, for the furthest round reached. The singles draw has 28 players, and the four top seeds skip the first round, so the opening round is played by 24 players and pays the smallest amount. The ladder below is the table the ATP lists for the 2026 edition, which runs November 8 - 14, 2026.

An ATP 250 is a different economy from the 500s and 1000s. The champion's €110,055 is roughly a fifth of what the winner in Vienna or Basel takes, and a first-round loser earns €7,755. The points are halved too: 250 for the title, 165 for the final and 100 for a semifinal. For a seed who gets a bye, the round of 16 is the first match, and losing it still pays €12,695 and 25 points.
Stockholm against the bigger events
Stockholm Open prize money compared with Basel, Vienna and Paris
In shortStockholm's €723,435 is less than a third of Basel's or Vienna's purse and about an eighth of Paris's. That is the gap between an ATP 250, a 500 and a Masters 1000.

All four events pay in euros, so the bars compare like with like. The gap is set by the category rather than the city, because each tier of the tour comes with its own prize money level, so even a strong field does not move a 250's purse much. Read the Basel, Vienna and Paris Masters guides for their own breakdowns.
A clean year-by-year series for Stockholm is harder to build than for the bigger events. The ATP's 2024 preview listed 690,135 in prize money but printed it with a pound sign, although the event pays in euros, so we leave that year out rather than guess. The 2026 figure comes straight from the ATP's tournament page.
What a 250 lacks in money it makes up for in opportunity. The draw is small, the top seeds start with a bye, and one good week can change a season. Stockholm has crowned Gael Monfils as the No. 140 in 2023 and Holger Rune and Tommy Paul in the years around it.
Dates and the move to November
Stockholm Open 2026 dates: why November?
In shortThe 2026 main draw runs November 8 - 14, 2026, with qualifying from November 7. The ATP calendar moved it from October for 2026; in 2027 it goes back to October, October 18 to 24, 2027.
For most of its history Stockholm has been an October event, played the week before Basel and Vienna. The 2026 ATP calendar moved it to the week after the Paris Masters, which makes it the last regular tour event of the men's season and puts it in the same week as the WTA Finals. The ATP Finals in Turin start the following Sunday.
That slot has a sporting edge, because players still chasing the last places in Turin get one more indoor week to collect points. The 2027 ATP calendar already lists Stockholm back in October.

Most indoor events rent a concert or ice-hockey arena for a week and lay a court inside it. Stockholm does the reverse. The Royal Tennis Hall was built for the sport, and the tournament has been played there for most of its history; the exception was 1989 to 1994, when it moved to the larger Globe Arena during its years as a Masters-level event, per the ATP.
Swedish tennis history runs through the building. Bjorn Borg, Stefan Edberg and Mats Wilander all won here, Thomas Enqvist won three times in the 1990s, and the last home champion was Thomas Johansson in 2004.

Ruud's 2025 final took 68 minutes. He lost only three points on serve and became, per the ATP, the first Norwegian to win the tournament, his 14th tour-level title. "It is a little bit of a childhood dream as it is close to Norway," he said afterwards; earlier that year he had won his first Masters 1000 title in Madrid. Two years earlier Gael Monfils came through as the No. 140 to beat the qualifier Pavel Kotov 4-6, 7-6(6), 6-3, the oldest champion in Stockholm's history at 37.
The ATP's record book lists Mats Wilander as the youngest champion, at 19 in 1983, and Edberg's 34 match wins as the most by any player. The highest-ranked champions were world No. 1s Bjorn Borg in 1980, John McEnroe in 1984 and Ivan Lendl in 1989.
