Prize money per round
Swiss Indoors Basel prize money breakdown per round
In shortThe 2025 Swiss Indoors offers €2,523,045 in prize money. The champion takes €471,825 and 500 ranking points; a first-round loser still earns €19,680.
Swiss Indoors Basel prize money is paid in euros, per player, for the furthest round reached, not per win. The ladder below is the singles table the ATP lists for the 2025 edition, which starts on October 20 - 26, 2025, with the ranking points for each round. The draw has 32 players, so a first-round loss is a round-of-32 exit.

The shape is the standard ATP 500 ladder. The runner-up's €253,875 is about 54 percent of the champion's cheque, and every round below roughly halves again until the round of 16, €36,900. A first-round loser receives €19,680 and no ranking points, which is why a straight-sets loss on Monday stings more than the money suggests.
Doubles money is paid per team. In 2025 the champions split €154,980 and the runners-up €82,650, per the ATP's release; the 2024 doubles title went to Jamie Murray and John Peers, who upset the top seeds Wesley Koolhof and Nikola Mektic in the final.

Three editions show a steady climb. From 2024 to 2025 the purse grew by about 5.8 percent, from €2,385,100 to €2,523,045; the step to 2026 was smaller, about 2.4 percent. The champion's share followed the same path, from €446,045 to €471,825 to €471,825.
Currency is the trap when comparing Basel with other events. Switzerland uses the franc, but the tournament's prize money is set in euros, as at Vienna and Paris. If you compare it with Dubai or Washington, which pay in dollars, the exchange rate moves the gap from year to year. Our tennis prize money ledger keeps each event in its own currency.
Points and the race to Turin
Swiss Indoors Basel prize money and points
In shortThe champion earns 500 ranking points, the finalist 330 and a semifinalist 200. Coming two weeks before the ATP Finals, those points often outweigh the money.
Basel sits in the last full week of October, with Paris straight after it and the season finale in Turin a week later. Players on the edge of the top eight arrive needing points, and a 500 title is worth half a Masters 1000. That is why the field is usually strong for a 500: Novak Djokovic, for one, took a wild card for the 2025 edition while chasing a place in Turin, according to the ATP.
Basel also shares its week with Vienna, the other ATP 500 of late October. The two events split the field, and the purses are close: Vienna's 2025 total is slightly higher. Read the Vienna Open guide for its breakdown, and the Paris Masters guide for the Masters 1000 that follows.
