Madison Keys was born February 17, 1995 in the American city of Rock Island and began playing tennis at the age of four. At nine, Keys entered the tennis academy, founded by the ex-first racket of the world, American Chris Evert. Madison says that she was inspired to play tennis by the performance of Venus Williams at Wimbledon 2008.
She began her professional career in 2009, immediately making her debut in the main draw of the WTA tournament (in Ponte Vedra Beach). The following season, she won the first trophy at ITF competitions.

Keys had to wait for the next title for two years. In 2016, Madison defeated Barbara Stryсova in two sets in the final of the tournament in Birmingham.
In 2017, the athlete won the title at the competitions in San Jose and reached the final of US OPEN, where she lost Sloane Stephens in two sets.
In 2018, the athlete failed to win a single trophy. But Madison performed well in two Grand Slam tournaments. At US OPEN and French Open, the tennis player reached the semifinals.
In 2019, the athlete won two titles. One at competitions in Charleston, the second in Cincinnati. These results helped Madison qualify for the WTA Elite Trophy.
The next season was a mixed bag for all athletes.. At the beginning of the year Case had a chance to win the trophy in Brisbane, but then the Czech player Petra Kvitova was more confident. At all the other tournaments Madison failed to show herself and didn’t even make it to the quarterfinals.
The American was forced to miss the start of the season 2021 because she contracted the coronovirus. Madison returned to the tennis courts in March at a competition in Doha, Qatar. She was able to make it to the second round, where she lost to Maria Saccari in two sets. Overall, the American is having a disappointing season. The only tournament where she could reach the quarterfinals was a tournament in Berlin. At other tournaments the athlete rarely got beyond the opening match.
The start of the 2022 season has been good for the 2017 Us Open finalist. Madison Keys won her sixth career trophy, defeating her compatriot Alison Riske in the final of the WTA 250 in Adelaide.
