Camila Giorgi Career
Giorgi was born on December 30, 1991 in Macerata, Italy, where her parents moved from Argentina.
Camila started attending the tennis academy at the age of five at the instigation of her father, who still assists her in the training process. In addition, for some time she attended gymnastics classes.
She made her debut at the adult pro level at the age of fifteen. Three years later she managed to win the ITF championship in Poland for the first time. Two months later Camila was successful again at the ITF championship. Between 2010 and 2011 the Italian tennis player won twice more ITF tournaments as well as playing in the main part of the WTA and Grand Slam tournaments, breaking through qualification for Wimbledon. In 2012, Camila won her fifth ITF event. After that she outplayed three opponents at Wimbledon, which put her in the top 100 of the rankings.
The next season Giorgi made it to the fourth round, defeating two top-15 runners-up. Her way to the quarterfinals was blocked by another tennis player from Italy, Roberta Vinci. In 2014 Сamila made it to the finals of two WTA championships, but failed to win.
First WTA Title
In the spring of 2015 the tennis player lost again in the final of the WTA championship, but in June she took her first WTA title at the competition in Hertogenbosch.
In 2018, Camila won her second WTA title, which took place on Austrian courts, defeating her opponent from Russia in the decisive match. She then reached the quarterfinals of the Wimbledon tournament for the first time and reached the third round of the French Open, finishing the season in the top 30.
The next season the Italian competed well in Washington and New York, where she reached the finals. In the decisive matches Camila lost, first to Jessica Pegula of the United States and then to Magda Linette of Poland.
