Prize money per round

Dubai Tennis Championships prize money breakdown per round

In shortThe 2026 WTA 1000 paid $4,088,211 in total and $665,000 to its champion. The ATP 500 a week later paid $3,311,005, with $619,160 for the men's champion.

Dubai Tennis Championships prize money is paid in US dollars, per player, for the furthest round reached. A quarterfinalist collects the quarterfinal amount and nothing on top for the rounds she or he won on the way. The ladder below sets the two singles draws of the 2026 edition side by side, with the ranking points that go with each round.

Sources: WTA tournament preview for the women's event and the ATP prize money release for the men's. The women's first round is the round of 56; the top eight seeds start with a bye.

The columns do not line up row for row. The women's event has 56 players and seven rounds, the men's 32 players and six. A WTA player who loses her opening match still took $18,300; an ATP player beaten in the first round took $25,825. At the top, the gap is smaller than the category difference suggests, at $665,000 against $619,160.

Points follow the category. The women's champion banks 1,000 ranking points, the same as at Indian Wells or Rome, while the men's champion earns 500. For a player outside the top 20, a semifinal in the women's week (390 points) can be worth more to her ranking than a small title elsewhere.

Two tours, two weeks

Why the women's Dubai purse is bigger than the men's

In shortThe women play a WTA 1000 and the men an ATP 500. In 2026 that put $4,088,211 on the women's side and $3,311,005 on the men's.

Dubai is one of the few places on the calendar where the women's purse is clearly the larger one. The difference reflects category, not equal pay. The WTA ranks its events as 1000, 500 and 250, and Dubai sits in the top tier with a 56-player draw and a full week of play. The men's tournament is a 500, the middle tier, with a 32-player draw.

The two events have also traded places over the years. The WTA describes Dubai as a tournament that used to alternate between 500 and 1000 status with Doha, which hosts the week before; since 2023 Dubai has stayed a 1000, and since 2025 Doha has been one too. Players who go deep in both weeks can leave the Gulf with two 1000-level results before the North American spring swing starts.

The men's 500 is no small event either. Its $3,311,005 purse is among the larger ones in its category, and the field usually includes several top-ten players fresh from the Middle East and Latin American weeks. Our Qatar Open guide covers the week before in Doha, where the same structure applies.

The women's total grew faster. From $3,211,715 in 2024 it climbed to $3,654,963 in 2025 and $4,088,211 in 2026, an increase of about 27 percent in two years. The champion's cheque moved with it, from $523,485 to $665,000. Doha, the WTA 1000 a week earlier, paid exactly the same totals in 2025 and 2026, so the two Gulf events move in step.

The men's purse rose in smaller steps: $2,941,785 in 2024, $3,237,670 in 2025 and $3,311,005 in 2026. The men's champion earned $550,140 two years ago and $619,160 now. For a full comparison with the other big events of the season, see our tennis prize money ledger.

Dates and venue

Dubai Tennis Championships dates and venue

In shortThe tournament is played in late February at the Aviation Club Tennis Centre, on outdoor hard courts. The next women's event runs February 15 to 21, 2027, the men's February 22 to 27, 2027.

Both weeks share one stadium, the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium inside the Aviation Club Tennis Centre. The 2026 women's event ran February 15 - 21, 2026; the men followed February 23 - 28, 2026. The ATP's tournament page dates the men's event to 1993, and the women's tournament was added in 2001.

The order of the weeks shapes each trip. The women arrive straight from Doha, so the two WTA 1000s form a back-to-back swing; the men come from Doha, Rotterdam or the South American clay and leave for Indian Wells in early March. Sessions start in the afternoon and run into the evening, when the desert air cools and the stadium fills.

The 2026 men's final never happened. Tallon Griekspoor injured his left hamstring in the semifinal against Andrey Rublev and was ruled unfit after scans, so Daniil Medvedev took the title by walkover. The ATP noted it was the first time Medvedev had won the same tournament twice, having also won Dubai in 2023. In the women's final, Jessica Pegula beat Elina Svitolina 6-2, 6-4 for her fourth WTA 1000 title.

The women's list is a who's who of the last decade. Mirra Andreeva won in 2025 at 17, which the WTA records as the youngest WTA 1000 champion ever; Jasmine Paolini and Barbora Krejcikova won the two years before. On the men's side, Aslan Karatsev's 2021 title and Ugo Humbert's win over Alexander Bublik in 2024 show how open the ATP 500 can be.
