Birmingham. Ashleigh Barty took over Donna Vekic

Australian tennis player Ashleigh Barty overcame the barrier of the first round of the tournament in Birmingham, beating the Croatian Donna Vekic, – 6/3, 6/4.

The match lasted 1 hour and 11 minutes. The second racket of the world, 23-year-old Ashley, recorded four breaks and five aces, making a mistake seven times when serving. The 22-year-old Vekic, who occupies the 22nd place in the WTA ranking, took the opponent’s pitch twice and made two double mistakes. Previously between the athletes have not met.

In the second round of the Nature Valley Classic competition, Barty will play with  Jennifer Brady.
