Holger Rune Will head the Swiss Indoors Basel Entry List

In singles, the trophy will be contested by 32 athletes, while 16 will take part in the doubles event. Denmark’s Holger Rune and Norway’s Casper Ruud became the first seeds at ATP Basel Open.
Carlos Alcaraz announced on Instagram that he’s pulling out of the Swiss Indoors Basel because of a foot injury and back muscle fatigue. “Sadly, I can’t play in Basel this year,” Alcaraz wrote. “I have an issue with my left foot and my lower back needs treatment. I’m aiming to play the rest of the season. Hope to see everyone soon!”
The last event in 2022 was won by Felix Auger-Aliassime, beating Holger Rune in the final. Auger-Aliassime was thrilled at the chance to join Federer, his childhood hero, as a Basel champion. Federer won the tournament 10 times in his hometown. “I thought about him today,” Auger-Aliassime said. “Winning where he did 10 times is cool.
