Australian tennis player Ashleigh Barty overcame the barrier of the first round of the tournament in Birmingham, beating the Croatian Donna Vekic, – 6/3, 6/4.

The match lasted 1 hour and 11 minutes. The second racket of the world, 23-year-old Ashley, recorded four breaks and five aces, making a mistake seven times when serving. The 22-year-old Vekic, who occupies the 22nd place in the WTA ranking, took the opponent’s pitch twice and made two double mistakes. Previously between the athletes have not met.
