Victoria Azarenka: I do not consider myself a loser

Belarus Victoria Azarenka commented on the defeat  in the second round of the Indian Wells tournament.

“Serena is the strongest opponent I have ever had to play with, but I love to confront her most of all. I think that I still continue to perform because of the desire to overcome difficulties. When everything is simple, I start to become boring, and difficulties are motivation for me. Always want to play with Serena. Perhaps the second round is a bit early, but my whole grid career is so-so, I’m already used to it.

After the Australian Open, my game is improving every day. It seems to me that in Acapulco I was able to make a serious step forward, although I did not achieve the desired result. There are no major flaws in my tennis, but I need to put all the elements together. In the match that ended, I did it for the most part. Thanks to Serena, I was able to show my best game to date. I think that we had a high-level meeting. Serena won deservedly, but I don’t consider myself a loser either. The rival used her capabilities better, that’s all, “the press service of the WTA quotes Azarenka.
