St. Petersburg. Vera Zvonareva took over Ekaterina Makarova

The 97th World No., Russian Vera Zvonareva, beat her compatriot Ekaterina Makarova, who is on the 61st line in the WTA rating, with a score of 6/3, 6/4 at the start of the St. Petersburg Ladies Trophy tournament. Tennis players spent on the court 1 hour 14 minutes. During this time, the 34-year-old Zvonareva performed aces, made a mistake three times in filing and sold three break points, and the 30-year-old Makarova filed it once, made two double mistakes and made one break.

Earlier in personal meetings was 3: 1 in favor of Ekaterine. The next rival  Zvonareva in St. Petersburg will be either a Greek Maria Sakkari or a German Julia Goerges.
