Serena Williams won her starting match in Rome

American tennis player Serena Williams overcame the barrier of the first round of the tournament in Rome, beating the Swede Rebecca Peterson – 6/4, 6/2.

For 1 hour and 15 minutes of the fight, the 11th racket of the world, 37-year-old Serena, recorded four breaks and ten aces, having made a mistake five times when serving. 23-year-old Peterson, who occupies the 64th position in the world classification, once took a rival’s pitch, made two aces and three double mistakes.

The American has increased the gap in the personal meetings of athletes – 2: 0. In the second round of the competition Internazionali BNL d’Italia Williams compete with the winner of the game of his sister Venus and Belgian Eliza Mertens.
