Madrid. Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova took only three games in the match with Jelena Ostapenko

Russian tennis player Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova failed to overcome the barrier of the first round of the tournament in Madrid, losing in two sets to Latvian Jelena Ostapenko – 2/6, 1/6.

The match lasted 1 hour. The 35th racket of the world, 27-year-old Anastasia, took the opponent’s pitch once and made four double mistakes. 21-year-old Elena, who occupies the 31st place in the WTA rating, has implemented six break points and was wrong six times when serving.

Previously, the account in the personal meetings of the athletes was equal – 1: 1. In the second round of the Mutua Madrid Open competition, Ostapenko will play either with Dutch Kiki Bertens or with Czech Katerina Siniakova.
