Karolina Pliskova Career
The future star of the sport was born on March 21, 92 in the small Czech town of Louny. She has a twin sister, together with whom Karolina began her serious interest in tennis at the age of four.
At the age of fifteen, the Czech played her first WTA-tour tournament. A year later she won her debut ITF singles title.

The Czech started 2013 by competing in Brisbane, Australia. Karolina could not even make it through the qualifiers to make it to the main draw. In spite of such a poor start, Karolina won her debut WTA title in Kuala Lumpur in March of this year. In the finals, Plisokova defeated American player Bethanie Mattek Sands,-1/6,7/5,6/3. The athlete couldn’t achieve more success this season.
In the next season the Czech performed more confidently. Karolina won two titles in Seoul and Linz. Pliskova played three times in the finals of other competitions, but could not overcome her opponents.
2015 was a very successful year for Karolina. At the beginning of the year she reached the finals of two competitions in Sydney and Dubai, but lost to Petra Kvitova and Simona Halep respectively. The next season Karoline managed to win a couple more titles in Nottingham and Cincinnati. The main achievement of the season was reaching the finals of the US Open, where she sensationally defeated Serena Williams in the semifinals. She did not capture her first Grand Slam trophy. German Angelique Kerber was stronger that night and won in three sets.
The year 2017 brought Pliskova victories at three tournaments in Eastbourne, Doha and Brisbane. The athlete also reached the semifinals of Roland Garros for the first time in her career, where she lost to Simona Halep of Romania.
For the next couple of seasons, Karolina continued to win titles at various WTA tournaments. She won a total of six tournaments in 2018-2019. She was also able to reach the quarterfinals at the Australian Open and US Open
