French tennis player Fiona Ferro won the competition in Lausanne, defeating her compatriot Alize Cornet – 6/1, 2/6, 6/1.
The match lasted 1 hour and 40 minutes. The 98th World No. 22-year-old Fiona sold seven break points and was not mistaken when serving. The 29-year-old Alize, who ranks 48th in the WTA ranking, took a rival’s serve four times, made three aces and two double faults. Previously the athletes have not met.
The title won at the Ladies Open Lausanne was Ferro’s first in her career, bringing $ 43,000 prize money and 280 rating points.
