Elena Rybakina was born on June 17, 1999 in Moscow, where she still lives. The athlete has dual citizenship of the Russian Federation and Kazakhstan, but in the international arena she defends the colors of the southern republic.

In the tournament in Hobart, Rybakina won her second career trophy as she defeated Zhang Shuai 7/6,6/3. In the other finals, Elena lost to her opponents Ekaterina Alexandrova, Kiki Bertens and Simona Halep.
