Austrian Dominic Thiem commented on his defeat by Serb Novak Djokovic in the semifinals of the tournament in Madrid.
“I can’t complain about the result, because reaching the semifinals is great. I beat three strong opponents and lost to Djokovic on two tiebreakers. I can’t beat players of this level every day. The tournament can be considered successful. To defeat Novak or Rafa, you need a little luck, but this time I didn’t have enough of it. Sometimes I just had no luck at breakpoints, sometimes I made atypical mistakes for myself.
In the second set I tried to take his serve for 15 minutes, and I succeeded. But he immediately spent an incredible game and won back. Djokovic is now playing at a high level. If he had played like this before, his results in previous tournaments would have been better. He goes to the peak of the form to “Roland Garros” – Thiem said ATP.
