Australian Ashleigh Barty commented on her victory over the Romanian Simona Halep in Sydney.
“I finally learned a lesson. In Montreal, she did not leave me a single chance. In Cincinnati I already took into account past mistakes. Now I was able to get together, plan a game plan and take advantage of my chances. My key to success was the key. We both were in the same conditions. I’m glad I could do everything right. In my opinion, for such conditions, we played pretty clean. Sometimes the wind rose on the court. But I thought that I would not have better conditions to defeat Simona: she played the first match after a long break. It’s great that I was able to take advantage of this, “the press service of the competition quotes Barty as saying.
Note that Barty for the first time in his career managed to beat the first racket of the world.
