German tennis player Angelique Kerber overcame the barrier of the quarterfinals of the Eastbourne tournament, beating the Romanian Simona Halep, – 6/4, 6/3.
The match lasted 1 hour and 11 minutes. The fifth racket of the world, 31-year-old Angelique, sold five break points, made one ace and made a mistake once. 27-year-old Simona, who ranks seventh in the WTA ranking, took the opponent’s serve twice, made one ace and one double mistake. The German woman has reduced the gap in the personal meetings of the athletes – 5: 6.
In a duel for reaching the final of the Nature Valley Open competition, Kerber will play with Ons Jabeur from Tunisia.
