The WTA Finals is a professional tennis tournament that will be played on hard courts at the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, USA. Fort Worth’s newest venue, the Dickies Arena is a multipurpose 14k seat American arena located within Will Rogers Memorial Center. On October 26, 2019, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held here, followed by an unforgettable Twenty One Pilots concert.
The event is scheduled to take place between October 31 and November 7, 2022. The WTA Finals is an opportunity for the best eight singles players and doubles teammates to compete at their highest level before Christmas.
It’s the 51st edition of this tournament now. Last year’s event was won by Garbiñe Muguruza, beating Anett Kontaveit in the final. This year Garbiñe Muguruza could not qualify for the final championship and will not be able to defend her title from last year. WTA Finals Prize Money
The WTA Finals is famous for its high-stakes matches and lucrative purse. For 2022, the total prize money pool stands at $5 million–identical to last year’s amount in Guadalajara!
All tournament participants receive $110,000 just for entering the tournament. Each victory in the group tournament adds $110,000 to the starting sum.
Participants of the semifinals will receive an additional $30,000 to the sum earned in a group stage. Runner-up will receive $420,000 and the amount earned in the group phase. The winner of the tournament will collect the group stage prize money and receive an additional $1,240,000
