Taylor Fritz, one of the young American tennis players, beat Jan-Lennard Struff of Germany 5/7,6/1,6/3 to reach the ATP Saint Petersburg final. This is Fritz’s second time at an ATP 250 tournament in Saint Petersburg, first in 2020. In last year’s event, Taylor did not make it past the first round. He lost to Cameron Norrie of Great Britain in three sets.
This year the American tennis player is a solid performer at the tournament in Saint Petersburg. Only German Jan-Lennard Struff took one set against Taylor Fritz in the semi-finals, the other players lost in two sets.

The American who recently celebrated his 24th birthday commented on his victory in the semifinal match in Saint Petersburg.
In the first set I lost only a few chances to take the lead. Everything changed in the other two sets. I was able to put my shape together and play my best tennis,” Fritz said.
Fan support
Fifth seed Taylor Fritz reached the final of an ATP tournament for the first time this season. The good atmosphere in the stands must have helped him.
It’s good to have that kind of support, especially when you’re away from home. I really got great support from the crowd,” Fritz said.
Rublev, the top seed at the ATP Tour Saint Petersburg, lost his quarter-final to Botic Van De Zandschulp to fall out of contention for the title he won last year. Andrey Rublev of Russia defeated Borna Coric of Croatia in the 2020 title fight.
This year, Saint Petersburg will have a new champion. Taylor Fritz will play the winner of the second semifinal between Botic Van De Zandschulp and Marin Cilic in the final of the ATP Saint Petersburg tournament
