German Angelique Kerber commented on her victory over Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka and the upcoming meeting with American Venus Williams in Indian Wells.
“The match with Sabalenka became the most difficult for me in this tournament. There were many ups and downs in it, we spilled out a lot of emotions. I had a great first set, but Aryna returned to the game. I fought for every point and believed that I could change the course of the meeting. We both fought for victory.
As for Venus, we are waiting for a stubborn confrontation, but I look forward to it. Today’s victory will give me the confidence that I can make a difference at any moment. The next match will have to start from the very beginning. Venus is a source of inspiration for many people, including tennis players, “the WTA press service quoted Kerber as saying.
