German tennis player Angelique Kerber went to the quarterfinal of the tournament in Doha, beating Estonian Anett Kontaveit in two sets, – 6/1, 7/6 (3).
The match lasted 1 hour and 21 minutes. The sixth racket of the world, 31-year-old Angelique, sold five break points and made a mistake once when serving. The 23-year-old Kontaveit, which occupies the 20th place in the WTA ranking, took the opponent’s bid twice, made one ace and two double mistakes.
The German woman has reduced the gap in the personal meetings of the athletes – 1: 2. In the quarterfinals of the Qatar Total Open competition, Kerber will play with Barbora Strycova.
