The Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic 2022, also known as the San Jose WTA 500 event, is a women’s tennis tournament that will take place from 1st August to 7th August 2022 on the hard courts in San Jose, California, the United States of America.
The tournament is part of the WTA 500 series and will feature some of the best female tennis players in the world. The projected top seeds for the tournament are Maria Sakkari (WR No.3), Paula Badosa (WR No.4), Ons Jabeur (WR No.5), and Aryna Sabalenka (WR No.6). With such a star-studded field, the Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic promises to be an exciting event for tennis fans around the world.
WTA 500 San Jose Entry List
The WTA 500 San Jose entry list has been announced and it includes some of the biggest names in tennis. Headlining the event are Maria Sakkari, Ons Jabeur , and Paula Badosa. Also included in the field are former World No. 1s Garbiñe Muguruza , as well as current Top 20 players Coco Gauff and Daria Kasatkina. There will be a new champion at this year’s WTA 500 San Jose event, as defending champion Danielle Collins has been forced to withdraw due to a neck injury. This year’s San Jose event is sure to be a competitive one, with many of the game’s best players vying for the title. Who will come out on top? Only time will tell.

Singles
Danielle Collins took home the title last year, sealing a back-to-back title run from Palermo to San Jose. The American defeated Daria Kasatkina 6-3, 6-7(10), 6-1 to win her second career title.
Doubles
Darija Jurak and Andreja Klepac are the defending champions in the Women’s doubles event in San Jose. They defeated Gabriela Dabrowski and Luisa Stefani in the doubles final in 2021, 6–1, 7–5. The two teams have been shown good game throughout the tournament, but Jurak and Klepac were able to come out on top in the end.

Martina Navratilova holds the record for the most singles titles on WTA San Jose: five (1979–1980, 1988, 1991, and 1993)The four-time WTA San Jose champion is the Belgian Kim Clijsters, who won here from 2001 to 2006. Three wins for American Lindsay Davenport and Serena Williams.
In doubles at the WTA San Jose, Lindsay Davenport was the most frequent performer. She has six wins to her credit, one of which came in the second half of her career. Rosemary Casals, a local tennis player, won five titles here.
