Elina Svitolina was born September 12, 1994 in Odessa in the family of Mikhail and Elena. The athlete has an older brother named Julian. Svitolina started playing tennis at the age of five when her parents brought her to the local tennis club.
The Ukrainian started her professional career in 2008. Three years later, Svitolina won her first trophy at an ITF tournament, and the following season she debuted on the WTA main draw and won the WTA 125K series tournament in Pune.
Elina’s favorite stroke is serving, Svitolina calls Andre Agassi her tennis idol. In her free time, the athlete enjoys reading books, watching movies, and listening to music, as well as participating in training on economics and business.
