Anastasija Sevastova was born April 13, 1990 in Liepaja in the former Soviet Union. Her mother Diana Golovanova is an English teacher.
Anastasia took up a racket for the first time at the age of six and began her athletic career in 2006. However, in 2012 due to health problems, she announced her retirement from the sport.
