One of the strongest tennis players since the beginning of the season, the most criticized for some behaviors on the court and because of his long “toilet breaks,” but also one who has already achieved many goals in this important year, which was the final consecration.
We’re talking, of course, about Stefanos Tsitsipas, who, after participating in the Red Bull Basslight 2021 exhibition event, returned to play the official ATP tournament in Vienna.
Difficult opponent
Tsitsipas advanced to the second round of the Erste Bank Open after beating Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria 7-6, 6-4.

“Grigor is a difficult opponent and the level of tennis today was very high. We played really well during the whole match. I played my last game with the right spirit and it was the key game in the match.
It’s important for me to play attacking tennis. It’s a fast court here so I expect to play well. I’m very happy to play aggressively at the right moments. To improve mentally, it’s very important to overcome difficulties,” -said Stefanos.
The Greek will try to finish the year in the best possible way on hard court: after the ATP 500 in the Austrian capital, he will start the important Masters in Paris, where he will try again to reach the quarterfinals like in 2019
