The 28th racket of the world, American tennis player Sofia Kenin, at the start of the Nature Valley International competition, lost to Australian Samantha Stosur, who occupies 132nd place in the world ranking, – 2/6, 3/6.
For 1 hour and 11 minutes of the match, Sofia did not make aces and breaks, having mistaken twice when serving. While Samantha filed three times right through and implemented three break points, making three double faults. Score in the personal meetings, opponents became 2-0 in favor of the Australian.
In the second round of the tournament in Eastbourne, Stosur will play with Angelique Kerber.
