Slovenian tennis player Polona Hercog overcame the barrier of the 1/2 final of the competition in Lugano, beating Frenchwoman Fiona Ferro – 7/5, 6/4. The match lasted 1 hour and 31 minutes.
The 89th racket of the world, 28-year-old Polona, made six breaks and three aces, having made a mistake three times when serving. 22-year-old Fiona, located on the 108th position in the world classification, took the opponent four times and did not make double mistakes.
Previously between the athletes have not met. In the finals of the Samsung Open tournament, Hercog will face off either with Czech Kristina Plishkova or with the Polish girl Iga Swiatek.
