Croatian Petra Martic commented on her access to the semifinals of the tournament in Charleston.
“It was my best match lately. Previous victories instilled confidence in me. Yesterday I managed to pull out a match against Pegulla. It was not easy, but I played at a good level, which I managed to transfer to the next match. I am very glad about that. It seems to me that the primer coating is great for my style of play. I know how to move, because I grew up on such courts. I am very comfortable.
However, last year I showed a good result on hard, and also reached the fourth round of Wimbledon. It surprised me, but at the same time instilled confidence that I could play on any surface, “the press service of the WTA quoted Martić as saying.
