Puerto Rican Monica Puig commented on her entry to the semifinals of the tournament in Charleston , where she will meet with the American Madison Keys.
“I feel great. I haven’t been able to show high results for a long time and win four games in a row. So I am very pleased. But we shouldn’t forget that another match is waiting for me tomorrow. I need to focus again and continue to fight and believe in myself.
It seems to me that composure was a key factor in a match with Collins. When you step forward, you want to keep the advantage. And when there is a bitter struggle, you need to stay in the game. It’s not easy when you desperately want to win.
As for Keys it seems the last time we met at Roland Garros a couple of years ago, but then it was different. Now I want to enjoy the victory, and then begin to prepare for tomorrow’s match. I do not think it will be easy. I need to stay calm and do the same thing that I did this week. No matter what happens, I am pleased with my game, “the WTA press service quoted Puig as saying.
