Dutch tennis player Kiki Bertens shared her impressions of the victory in the second round of the tournament in Charleston.
“The first match after the transition to the ground cover is always difficult. At the start of the match I tried to catch the rhythm and didn’t put much power into the blows. But then I began to act more aggressively and was pleased with my game in the end. Of course, today was not easy, but the conditions equal for all. After the account 2/2 I played confidently. I realized that my opponent has problems with movement as soon as I start to play more actively. I began to take more risks on the pitch and more often punch through. In the end, it worked.
Meeting with Petkovic or Sakkari will not be easy either. Both of them are very strong athletes. Andrea is trying to return to the former level, Maria has amazing fighting qualities, “- says the Bertens press service of the WTA.
