Swiss tennis player Stan Wawrinka overcame the first-round barrier of the Masters in Indian Wells, beating Briton Daniel Evans in three sets – 6/7 (4), 6/3, 6/3.
For 2 hours and 8 minutes of the fight, the 40th racket of the world, 33-year-old Stan, recorded five breaks and eight aces. 28-year-old Evans, who occupies the 100th place in the ATP rating, twice took the opponent’s serve, made one ace and one double mistake.
The Swiss increased the gap in the personal meetings of players – 2: 0. In the second round of the BNP Paribas Open tournament, Wawrinka will play with Hungarian Marton Fucsovics.
