American tennis player Serena Williams overcame the barrier of the second round of the Indian Wells tournament, beating Belarus Victoria Azarenka in two sets – 7/5, 6/3.
For 2 hours and 7 minutes of the fight, the 10th racket of the world, 37-year-old Serena, recorded six breaks and four aces, having made the wrong mistake nine times. Azarenka, 29, who ranks 48th in the WTA ranking, took a rival’s serve four times, made one ace and five double faults.
The American has increased the gap in the personal meetings of athletes – 18: 4. In the third round of the BNP Paribas Open, Williams will play with Garbine Muguruza .
