The 37th World Player, Ukrainian, Dayana Yastremska, lost to Australian Daria Gavrilova, who is in the 53rd position in the WTA rating, with a score of 2/6, 7/5, 2/6 at the start of the BNP Paribas Open tournament.
Tennis players spent on the court 2 hours 30 minutes. During this time, the 18-year-old Yastremska completed three aces, made a mistake ten times when serving and sold six break points, and the 25-year-old Gavrilova never served right through, made two double mistakes and made nine aces.
This was the first official meeting of athletes. Gavrilova’s next rival in Indian Wells will be Romanian Mihaela Buzarnescu.
