One of the most talented Polish tennis players these days, Hubert is now fighting to make the ATP Finals against fellow youngsters Jannik Sinner, Casper Ruud.
In the meantime, Hurkacz is the last to qualify for the ATP Race To Turin with 3135 points. He is 120 points ahead of his friend Jannick Sinner. Sinner could still be back in the race if he wins the tournament in Stockholm next week.
“Of course, I really want to play in Turin. I’ll do everything I can to make it happen. I hope we’ll qualify there with my friend Jannick Sinner,” Hubert said.
His next opponent will be Australia’s James Duckworth who defeated his countryman Alexey Popirin, 7/6, 6/4.
The Pole is coming to the ATP Masters 1000 series tournament in Paris for the third time. In 2020, 2019 he failed to get past the first round. In 2019 the young talent from Poland was outplayed by Marin Cilic, and in 2020 Hurkacz lost to Radu Albot.
