Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina commented on her victory over Magda Lynette at a tournament in Strasbourg.
“It was definitely a difficult match. Lynette struggled too, tried to show a good level of tennis, my own game went up and down. It was not so easy to come from another tournament, where there were other balls, other conditions. I tried to fight and in the end I was lucky that the match ended in two sets.
When you lose the score and do not want to lose a set, you act more thoughtfully, you are more focused, trying to prevent your opponent to easily win points. If you manage to do this, you can return to the fight for the set. If not, well, then you lose the game. So, this is a difficult situation, but I just managed to play well when I was losing the score. It was important for me to stay in the game,” WTA quotes Svitolina.
