Belgian tennis player Elise Mertens failed to overcome the barrier of the first round of the tournament in Dubai, losing in three sets to Chinese Zhu Lin – 7/5, 4/6, 5/7.
The match lasted 2 hours and 58 minutes. The 16th World No. 23-year-old Elise, took the rival eight times, made four aces and six double faults. Zhu Lin, 25, who is ranked 107th in the world classification, implemented nine break points and completed two aces.
