Austrian Dominic Thiem shared his expectations of meeting with Spaniard Rafael Nadal in the semifinals of the tournament in Barcelona.
“Meeting with Rafa on the ground is a serious test. He won 11 times in Barcelona, everyone is sick of him here, so it will be hard for me. Nevertheless, we had a lot of great matches in the past and are now in good shape. Hopefully we both will play at the highest level. Last year in Madrid and earlier in Rome, I acted very aggressively, and it worked. I will use this tactic.
Rafa can be defeated only if you attack and punch a lot. Of course, in Madrid it was easier to do than here. There are excellent conditions for me, but Nadal obviously likes him less, even though he won there five times.
