American tennis player Amanda Anisimova overcame the barrier of the second round of the tournament in Bogota, beating her compatriot Varvara Lepchenko in two sets – 6/4, 6/4.
For 1 hour and 14 minutes of the match, the 76th racket of the world, 17-year-old Amanda, made five breaks and one ace, mistaken eight times when serving. 32-year-old Lepchenko, which occupies the 151st position in the world classification, three times took the pitch of a rival and made four double mistakes.
Previously between the athletes have not met. In the quarterfinal of the Claro Open Colsanitas competition, Anisimova will fight against the Colombian Maria Camilo Osorio Serrano.
