Canadian Bianca Andreescu commented on her victory in the final in Toronto.
“Serena, I’m really sorry. I understand how it feels to get hurt at such a moment. Yes, and I would like to win this way. But you are a true champion on the court and beyond.
I do not know what to say. Since 1969, I became the first representative of my country who managed to win the tournament. My dream has come true.
The week was very difficult, like the last two months, but I continued to fight. I’m happy now.
I am grateful to everyone who participated in this event – from the bank to the volunteers. And of course, the fans. You helped me win this victory. Thank you my team. I don’t know how you have the strength to endure me with all my ups and downs. Thanks to my parents for their support at every stage of my journey, “the WTA press service quoted Andreescu as saying.
