Swiss tennis player Belinda Bencic overcame the barrier of the first round of the competition in Mallorca, beating Swedish Rebecca Peterson – 7/5, 6/4.
The match lasted 1 hour and 49 minutes. The 13th WTA ranking number, 22-year-old Belinda, made five breaks and four aces, making a double mistake when serving. Peterson, 23, ranked 64th in the world classification, took a rival three times, made one ace and seven double mistakes.
Earlier there were no meetings between the athletes.
In the second round of the tournament Mallorca Open Bencic will fight against the winner of the game of Chinese Zhang Shuai and Qualifier.
