German tennis player Angelique Kerber overcame the barrier of the third round of the Australian Open, beating the keeper of Kimberley Birrell in two sets – 6/1, 6/0.
For 58 minutes of the match, the second racket of the world, 31-year-old Angelique, made five breaks and two aces, having made a mistake twice when serving. 20-year-old Birrell, occupying the 240th line of the world table of ranks, performed one ace and three double faults.
Before each other athletes have not met. In the 1/8 finals of the tournament, Kerber will meet with Danielle Collins.
