Metz is a beautiful French city that is renowned for its yellow limestone architecture. It is also home to the Moselle Open, an annual tennis tournament that takes place at the Arènes de Metz. The Moselle Open is part of the ATP Tour 250 Series of the 2022 ATP Tour. It takes place from September 19 through September 25, 2022. Visitors to Metz will not only enjoy the city’s architectural beauty, but they will also have the opportunity to watch some of the world’s best tennis players in action.
Hubert Hurkacz from Poland won the title at this event last year. Players from all around the world come to compete in the Moselle Open every year. This tournament is one not to be missed. Who will take home the trophy this year? Only time will tell. Be sure to follow the tournament closely to find out!
Moselle Open Prize Money
The Moselle Open tennis tournament, to be held in September 2022, will have a prize fund 27.4% higher than in 2021, and the winner’s share will be nearly double what it was last year. The total prize money for the event will be €534,555, with the champion taking home €81,310. This is good news for professional tennis players, many of whom have seen their earnings drop due to the cancellation or postponement of tournaments during the Covid-19 pandemic.
While the increase in prize money at the Moselle Open is welcome news, it is worth noting that it is still considerably less than what top players can earn at Grand Slam events such as Wimbledon and the French Open. Nevertheless, it is a step in the right direction and will hopefully lead to other tournaments increasing their prize funds in order to attract the best players in the world.
