Karatsev gained great form before the semifinals
In the post-match interview, Karatsev commented on his victory.
It wasn’t easy for me at the start of the match. Yannick plays very fast tempo and he plays really good tennis in general. It took me a while to adjust to his style. In the tie-break game, I was a bit unlucky.
In the second set, I felt more comfortable and I knew exactly how to react in certain situations. Everything went well in the third set, too.
Of course, I’m very happy with the result. I’ll keep working and don’t intend to stop at what I’ve achieved.

Karatsev will play in the semi-finals of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships against either Andrey Rublev of Russia or Marton Fucsovics of Hungary.
