Belarus Aryna Sabalenka reached the 1/4 finals of the tournament in Adelaide, defeating Romanian Simona Halep – 6/4, 6/2.

“I understood that Simona always fights to the end, not paying attention to the score. Even when I led 5-0, I still expected that she would try to get back into the game. So when she won a couple of games, I remained collected and didn’t lose concentration. I’m very pleased with such a victory. Beating such strong opponents is insanely pleasant, “the WTA press service quoted Aryna as saying.
Aryna spoke about expectations from the confrontation with Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska.
“Dayana shows an excellent game and strives to act aggressively. I think that our fight will be held at a high pace. Of course, I can’t guarantee the result. However, I will do my best to reach the final,” added Sabalenka.
