Russian tennis player Andrey Rublev shared his impressions of the victory over Greek player Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final of the tournament in Hamburg.
“It’s just an incredible feeling to become the champion of the ATP 500. He realized that he had achieved victory only after the judge announced a double mistake with Stefanos. I couldn’t believe for several seconds that I had won. Now I am happy.
I was not afraid before the final. The fight turned out to be a great one. In the third set, Tsitsipas led with a break twice. I was a little lucky with the score 5/4. I think it’s all about psychology.
After Stefanos couldn’t apply for the match, everything was going very quickly. He was upset with that failure, and I was able to take advantage of it,” the ATP press service quoted Rublev as saying.
