Czech tennis player Petra Kvitova went to the quarterfinals of the tournament in St. Petersburg, beating Belarus Viktoria Azarenka in two sets – 6/2, 7/6 (3).
For 1 hour and 39 minutes of the match, the second racket of the world, 28-year-old Petra, made six breaks and nine aces, making four wrong mistakes when serving. Azarenka, 29, who is 51st in the WTA ranking, took out a rival four times, made three aces and four double faults.
Czech increased the gap in the personal meetings of athletes – 5: 3. In 1/4 finals of the competition St.Petersburg Ladies Trophy Kvitova will play either with Russian Veronika Kudermetova, or with Croatian Donna Vekic.
