Christopher Eubanks, the rising tennis star, owes a great deal of his success to his parents, Adrian and Carla Eubanks. Born on May 5, 1996, Christopher spent his early childhood in Atlanta, Georgia, one of the most populous cities in the United States with more than 500,000 inhabitants. The city also holds a significant place in the world of tennis as it hosts an annual ATP tournament.
Chris and Carla Eubanks, like any other parents, witnessed their son’s initial tryst with tennis at an extraordinarily young age. While it’s not uncommon for tennis players to start their journey at the age of four or five, Christopher surpassed them all, stepping onto the court with a racquet for the first time when he was just two years old. Even at such an early age, his parents saw in him a deep-rooted love for the sport.
Despite Christopher’s early start, his professional career was not set in stone. During his teenage years, he was uncertain about his future in the sport. It is perhaps due to the wisdom and guidance of Chris and Carla that he kept playing, even though he seldom competed in junior international tournaments. By the age of 18, he had only participated in two domestic championships.
Christopher’s parents also placed great emphasis on his education. In 2015, the promising tennis player enrolled in Georgia Tech, a prestigious college in his home state. Balancing academics with his passion for tennis, Christopher demonstrated his exceptional skills on the court during his college years. He was recognized as the state’s best student tennis player two years in a row, showing that his parents’ belief in a balanced approach to life served him well.
After graduating from college in 2017, Christopher decided to pursue a professional career in tennis. Despite facing initial setbacks, he was determined to succeed, a quality that no doubt came from the supportive and resilient nature of his parents, Adrian and Carla. As of 2023, he has managed to break into the top 50 in the global ranking, earning his first ATP title, and making a Major quarterfinal debut. His success is a testament to his talent, hard work, and the unyielding support of his parents.
Who Are Christopher Eubanks’s Mother And Father?
Christopher Eubanks, the bright spark in international tennis, attributes much of his success to his parents, Chris and Carla Eubanks. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Christopher has grown under the watchful eyes of his father, an industrial engineer and college tennis player turned Baptist minister, and his mother, Carla, who stands as a strong pillar of support in his journey.
Chris Eubanks, Christopher’s father, played a crucial role in his early tennis development. Until the age of 13, Chris was the primary coach for Christopher, instilling in him the basics and love for the game. Carla, Christopher’s mother, also played an essential part in his tennis career. She often accompanied him to his Sunday matches, supporting him from the sidelines as his father was in church due to his pastoral duties.
“My grandfather, my mom’s father, started what’s now a fairly prominent Baptist church in Memphis,” Christopher shares, recalling his maternal grandfather’s influence. Christopher humorously adds, “The funny thing about being a preacher’s kid is when you’re playing tournaments on Saturdays and Sundays, you miss a lot of Sunday services!”
In his teenage years, Christopher trained with Donald Young’s parents, who ran the South Fulton Tennis Center near his home. This experience was a turning point in his tennis journey, enabling him to practice with Young, a Top 100 ATP-ranked player. Christopher acknowledges the importance of this period, saying, “When I got around Donald and got to get better and better, that’s when I got back to, ‘Maybe I could do this one day.'”

Despite his growing success in tennis, Christopher’s upbringing has always emphasized faith and humility. His parents instilled in him the belief that faith extends to every walk of life, including his tennis career. “It’s just trusting that if I keep doing what I’m supposed to do, it’s going to work out,” Christopher says.
Throughout his journey, the core values taught by Chris and Carla have held strong. Christopher shares, “I think that’s probably the biggest, all-encompassing theme of how I try to go about life, is just treating others the way you want to be treated.” He admires great athletes not only for their sporting prowess but for their impact outside the sport. This is reflected in his admiration for Arthur Ashe, who was renowned for his achievements on and off the court.
“The largest tennis stadium in the world is named after him,” Christopher points out, referring to Arthur Ashe. “It’s because of the things that he did outside the court, which made him such an icon.” Like his idol, Christopher Eubanks, guided by his parents Chris and Carla, aspires to excel in tennis while making a positive impact beyond the court.
