The Open Sud de France is an ATP 250 tennis tournament that will take place on the hard courts at the Arena Montpellier in Montpellier, France.
Sud de France Arena also known as the Arena Montpellier is one of the premier tennis venues in the country and hosts several important tournaments throughout the year. The stadium has a seating capacity of over 7500 and is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for players, including multiple courts, training areas, and locker rooms.
The 2023 Open Sud de France is the 36th edition of the tournament for men. It will take place from 6 to 12 February 2023.
ATP 250 Montpellier Prize Money
The prize money purse at the ATP Open Sud de France has greatly increased for the 2023 tennis season. The total prize money came to – €562,815, up 32.61% from 2022. The champion in Montpellier will receive just over 15% of that total –€85,605 if he wins the trophy. The runner-up will receive a small payout, pocketing €49,940 for his efforts. There is a significant drop off in prize money after the semi-final stage, with the two losing players in that round taking home €29,355 each. Those eliminated in the quarter-finals will receive €17,010 for their efforts. First-round losers will walk away with €6,035.

ATP Open Sud de France Open Entry List Will Be Headed By Holger Rune
The event will feature the participation of notable figures of french tennis such as Benjamin Bonzi (45th), four-time tournament champion Richard Gasquet (46th), Constant Lestienne (52nd), Ugo Humbert (86th), Arthur Rinderknech (164th), Arthur Fils (164th) among others.
In singles, the trophy will be contested by 28 athletes, while 16 will take part in the doubles event. The top seeds are the Dane Holger Rune and the Italian Jannik Sinner.
The last event in 2022 was won by Alexander Bublik, beating Alexander Zverev in the final. A Kazakhstani tennis player, Alexander Bublik, will defend his title this year.

ATP Montpellier: History Of The Competition
Under the brand name Open Sud de France, competitions in France have been held for more than 30 years. From 1987 to 2009 tennis masters came to Lyon. Pete Sampras was the most frequent tennis player to win in Lyon until 2009 – three times.
In modern history, the tournament was held in two arenas in Montpellier. In 2010 it was held at the Park & Suites Arena. The following season it was not held at all due to changes in the calendar, and in 2012 it moved to the Sud de France arena where it is still based today.
Three times at ATP Montpellier the Frenchman Richard Gasquet and Gael Monfils won. Gasquet was the best in 2013, 2015 and 2016. Before that, Richard also managed to take the trophy in Lyon in 2006.
